In complete honesty I got these for my Kindle simply because they were free, however, I'm finding them quite interesting. In my 76 years I've probably read 40 or 50 British/English histories. I always get something new. In this case the fact that they were written over 200 years ago clearly caused the author to see events in a very different light than most would today. For example, I just finished reading the section on King James I ... there was not a single word about the idea behind, the committee or anything else to do with the creation of the King James version of the bible; in fact the King James bible was literally not even mentioned.Product details

I was surprised to find that this edition was a copy of a nineteenth century version of the text. I am saddened by the lack interest in this milestone in historiographical work.
ENLIGHTENING, FOR SURE.
Interesting, informative, and Comprehensive
Books like this are good for geneology support and information. The more we know about how our ancestors lived, the more we know about why we are who we are.
Detail ad nauseum. Written in 1776. Tough vocabulary.
Difficult read due to the use of words which are now no longer in use, doing a search on my Fire did not turn up any definitions on a number of occasions.
Dry, but useful reference material. This series of books is a dry read, don't approach it like a novel, but is very useful reference tool when wishing to refresh ones memory or knowledge of a particular period or person in history.
